§ Mrs. Doris Fisherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether lie is satisfied that, in the Birmingham area, there is no undue delay in the payment of increased social security benefits which take account of increased rate assessments.
§ Mr. DeanOwing to pressure of work the revision of supplementary benefit to provide for increased rate assessments is being deferred until a renewal order book is due, when arrears are being given. Arrangements have been made with the city of Birmingham housing department for the deferment of the payment of the increase in rates by tenants who are experiencing difficulty until their supplementary benefit is increased.
