§ 37. Mr. McMasterasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions or negotiations have taken place between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of the Republic of Ireland with respect to the future administration of Northern Ireland following the elections for the new Assembly on 28th June; and what agreements, if any, have been made between the two Governments or understandings reached.
§ Mr. Anthony RoyleThere have been no negotiations and no agreements. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland met Dr. FitzGerald on 9th June, and Mr. Cosgrave will meet my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 2nd July. I hope that such discussions contribute to a better understanding of Her Majesty's Government's policies.
