§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe prevention of alcoholism is an integral part of health services, and the total expenditure is not separately identifiable. £14,000 was spent in the financial year 1972–73 on publicity and the promotion of information services about alcoholism and in addition regional conferences were promoted by the Scottish Health Education Unit in conjunction with the voluntary bodies most directly concerned. Grants amounting to £60,000 were made for individual research projects supported by my Department though not borne directly on its Vote.
