§ 50. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what representations he has received from the Chigwell Urban District Council and other local authorities in Essex about possible building development in the Metropolitan Green Belt.
§ Mr. EyreThe Chigwell Urban District Council has written opposing references to the Metropolitan Green Belt in the Whie Paper "Widening the Choice: the Next Steps for Housing" (Cmnd. 5280). The Essex County Council has said it will oppose any suggestions for further encroachment into the Metropolitan Green Belt. The Waltham Holy Cross Urban District Council has asked to be associated with the search for green belt land suitable for housing which my right hon. and learned Friend has asked the Standing Conference on London and South-East Regional Planning to undertake. I am sending my hon. Friend copies of the replies.
