§ Mrs. FennerRepresentations have been received from the National Farmers' Union, British Poultry Meat Association, and the Multiple Food Retailers' Federation and from Members of Parliament on behalf of their constituents. These representations are being fully taken into account in the discussions now in progress on the draft poultry marketing regulations.
§ Mr. Moateasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) what effect EEC health directives would have on the sale of the traditional rough-plucked turkey in the United Kingdom; and when such directives will become enforceable;
(2) what representations he has received about the effect of Community regulations on the sale of rough-plucked 241W turkeys and chickens in the United Kingdom; and what reply he has sent.
§ Mrs. FennerMy right hon. Friend has received representations from the poultry industry, the National Farmers' Union, and Members of Parliament on behalf of constituents. He has explained the reason for the EEC requirements, but has said that he recognises the concern of producers and that the problems which arise from the poultry meat directive are currently being considered with the Commission and our fellow members in the Community.

§ Mrs. FennerIt is estimated that about 30 per cent. of the turkeys sold in the United Kingdom are New York dressed or fresh plucked the rest are fully eviscerated.
