Mr. James Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many adult persons in each category were unemployed in the Yorkshire and Humberside Region at the latest convenient date, and in June 1970.

Mr. Dudley Smith

There were 43,634 men and 7,357 women unemployed in the region on 9th July 1973 and 44,814 men and 5,556 women on 12th June 1970. The figures for July 1973 are provisional.
