HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 c401W
Q8. Mr. Bidwell

asked the Prime Minister if he will discuss with the CBI and the TUC the apportionment of married male workers' wages increases to themselves and their wives.

The Prime Minister

I recognise the importance of this in the context of the counter-inflation programme. I do not think that it is a matter on which the Government can properly intervene but I would naturally be willing to discuss any views which the CBI and the TUC may have on it.
