§ Mr. Hayhoeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will introduce legislation to give tenants 444W of private rented unfurnished accommodation a right to challenge service charges they consider unreasonable.
§ Mr. ChannonFollowing consideration of the report of the Leasehold Service Charges Study the Government propose to introduce at the earliest convenient opportunity legislation to give the tenants of leasehold property a simple right to challenge in the courts the reasonableness of sums demanded on them by way of service charges. Consultations about the details of the new measures are about to take place with those most interested in the subject.
