HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 c392W
Mr. James Johnson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his estimate of the number of farmers in Yorkshire and Humberside and of how much their average incomes have increased since June 1970 to the latest available date.

Mr. Godber

There were in the region some 13,000 full-time farmers, partners and directors on some 11,000 full-time holdings at June 1972. Information from a limited sample of farm accounts collected by Leeds University showed the following average net incomes per full-time farm for farms of different types found in Yorkshire. Similar information for the region south of the Humber is not available separately.
