asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what plans he has in connection with Ascension Island and St. Helena for improving air and sea communications between the United Kingdom and South Africa.

None, but I expect to receive shortly the report of the development adviser for St. Helena which is likely to contain recommendations on the improvement of communications there.
