§ Mr. Kaufmanasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his 314W policy towards plans for the intermediate ring road planned for construction through the Longsight and West Gorton areas of Manchester; and whether funds will be available for construction of this road.
§ Mr. SpeedI assume the hon. Member means the proposal to link Hyde Road (A57) to Stockport Road (A6). This was included in the principal road preparation list last year. Subject to a satisfactory proposal and availability of funds this scheme would be firmly programmed.
