§ Mr. St. John-StevasThis information is not collected annually, but the Russell Committee on Adult Education estimated that in 1968–69 local education authorities in England and Wales incurred gross expenditure of £19–2 million with income of £3–2 million including £2–8 million from fees for non-vocational adult education. These figures excluded transfer payments between authorities.
