§ Mr. ChannonEight local authorities have made general representations about the use of direct labour organisations for building for sale and these have been noted. One of them sought approval to a scheme to be carried out by direct labour, and this was refused in accordance with paragraph 4 of Circular No. 60/73.
§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he 356W is now in a position to make a statement on his policy on the building of houses for sale by the direct works departments of local authorities; and if he will make a statement.
