asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what the attitude of Her Majesty's Government is to the proposal to site an oil refinery in Shetland.

No application has yet been made to the Zetland County Council for siting an oil refinery in Shetland. Planning responsibilities rest with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland.
