§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many and what proportion of motor cars registered in each of the last five years for which records are available were brought by or on behalf of limited liability companies and how many on behalf of firms or individual businesses
§ Mr. Anthony GrantThe statistics requested do not exist. The results of the "Motor Transactions Survey 1962', published in "Economic Trends" for May 1965, show that 53 per cent. of new cars purchased mainly in 1960 and 1961 were brought entirely or partly for business purposes. A comparable sample survey planned to be published later this year suggests a similar percentage for transactions mainly occurring during 1969 and 1970.
