§ 35. Sir D. Rentonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he is aware that the Restrictive Trade 241W Practices Act 1968 prevents farmers and market gardeners from deriving certain advantages from membership of growers associations; and whether he will hold consultations with a view to introducing legislation to amend that Act so as to enable growers' associations to pursue their objectives.
§ Sir G. HoweI am aware of suggestions that the special exemptions from the Restrictive Trade Practices Acts in favour of agricultural and horticultural co-operatives do not go far enough. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture already has these matters under consideration.
