§ Mr. HigginsI would refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Winchester (Rear-Admiral Morgan-Giles) on 22nd May.—[Vol. 857, c.66.]
Mr. Joel Bamettasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many applications have been received for VAT registration from people proposing to build their own house, or extensions to an existing house: and how many of such applications have been accepted.
122W15 letters from visitors to the exhibition, including three of the 10 amenity societies invited, and all these are, I understand, generally favourable.
Although the number of letters received was small, I believe that this exercise in public participation was generally appreciated and was well worthwhile. Westminster City Council has, under the Circular 80 procedure, now given planning approval in principle subject to certain reservations of detail which are in course of resolution.
