Mr. Madel

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many houses were completed in the public and private sector in the parliamentary constituency of South Bedfordshire excluding the county borough of Luton in 1972; and what were the figures for 1970.

Mr. Channon

In 1972 there were 153 reported dwelling completions in the public sector and 761 for the private sector. Corresponding figures for 1970 were 147 and 701.
