HoweAnimals for slaughter are not distinguished as such in the export statistics but a reasonable approximation is believed to be represented by exports of fat cattle, sheep other than for breeding and sows and boars sent to the Irish Republic; exports of these categories 117W totalled £16 million, £9 million and £16 million respectively in 1970, 1971 and the first eleven months of 1972.
