§ Mr. Carlisle2,055 traffic wardens were employed in the Metropolitan Police area on 31st December 1972. The corresponding figures for the end of 1970 and 1971 were 1,585 and 1,966. I am obtaining 39W the more detailed information asked for and will write to the hon. Member as soon as possible.
