34. Mr. Horam

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will issue a circular requesting local authorities to re-examine ab initio all trunk and principal schemes of urban road building which have not reached the exchange-of-contract stage.

44. Mr. Jay

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he proposes to adopt the recommendations contained in the report on Urban Transport Planning by the Environment Sub-Committee of the Expenditure Committee.

Mr. Peyton

The Government are considering the recommendations of the Expenditure Committee on urban transport and will reply as soon as possible.
