§ 35. Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what he estimates is the expenditure to date by the Midland Road Construction Unit in preliminary design and survey work on the northern section of the proposed route of the M42; and what further expenditure will be incurred between now and until he has given his decision on the findings of the public inquiry.
§ Mr. SpeedPreparation costs, including work on alternative routes, are estimated at £300,000 to date; it is expected that a further sum of this order will be spent by the time a decision is taken.
