§ 7. Mr. O'Halloran
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the progress made by the inner London boroughs to deal with the problem of homeless families; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Channon
Homelessness in London is a problem which affects the metropolis as a whole. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services and I remain very concerned about the difficult problems of family homelessness in London. As I said during the Second Reading debate on the Furnished Lettings (Rent Allowances) Bill, we are engaged in discussion with the London Boroughs Association and the GLC on ways of improving this situation.
