§ Mr. Cordleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assistance Her Majesty's Government is offering the Senegalese Government in connection with the serious drought in that country.
§ Mr. KershawHer Majesty's Government have made a gift of 100 tons of wheat flour, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State, during his visit to Dakar, will make a cash donation of £2,500 to the fund which the Senegalese Government have opened to alleviate distress. Parliament will be asked to approve the necessary Supplementary Estimate in due course. Meanwhile, an advance will be sought from the Contingencies Fund.
