asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will locate the headquarters of the Manpower Services Commission in South Yorkshire.

Mr. Redmond

asked the Secretary of State for Employment who will be the members of the Manpower Services Commission ; and what their salary levels will be.

Mr. Whitelaw

Sir Denis Barnes, KCB, as already announced, is being appointed as chairman of the commission. The other members will be :

Appointed after consultation with Confederation of British Industry.

Mr. D. A. C. Dewdney, CBE (Deputy Chairman).

Mr. V. G. Paige, FCIT, FIPM, MBIM.

Mr. M. O. Bury, OBE, MIPM.

Appointed after consultation with Trades Union Congress.

Mr. D. McGarvey, CBE.

Mr. C. H. Urwin.

Mr. K. Graham, OBE.

Appointed after consultation with local authority association in England and Wales.

Alderman Mrs. Anne Yates, CBE, JP.

Appointed after consultation with local authority association in Scotland.

Councillor Dr. D. J. Docherty, JP.

Appointed after consultation with professional education interests.

Mr. R. L. Helmore, Bsc. (Hons), C.Eng., FIEE, MBIM, JP.

As already announced, Sir Denis Barnes' remuneration as full-time chairman is £16,000 a year. The other members will be part-time and will be remunerated at the level of £250 a year, plus £25 for each day's work.
