§ Mr. Anthony RoyleThe legal status of the island is determined by the Island of Rockall Act 1972 under which the island has been fully incorporated into the United Kingdom. No communication has been received from any foreign Government concerning this Act, though the Irish Government have questioned our right to exercise fishery jurisdictions around the island. We have replied rejecting the Irish view and reaffirming our position.
