§ Lord BalnielThe Turks and Caicos Island (Constitution) (Amendment) Order in Council 1973 was made on 29th March and laid before Parliament on 4th April. It terminates the appointment of the Governor of the Bahamas as Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands and provides for a separate post of Governor of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It also provides for a separate Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. These changes will come into force on 25th April.
