HC Deb 09 April 1973 vol 854 cc206-7W
Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will invite chief constables to a conference to consider harmonising police procedures for tracing missing persons.

Mr. Carlisle

The police do all they can to trace missing persons whom they have reason to believe have come to some harm, and I am in touch with chief officers about the extent to which they might be involved in tracing missing children who are the subject of High Court orders. If the hon. Member has any particular point or case in mind I shall be glad to consider it.
