HC Deb 09 April 1973 vol 854 c211W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will respond to suggestions that there should be research into the assumptions underlying the 11th Report of the Criminal Law Revision Committee and set up an investigation into criminal trials, in order to establish how many improper acquittals are directly referable to rules of procedure and evidence.

Mr. Carlisle

The effect of various rules of procedure and evidence upon the outcome of contested criminal trials is among the subjects which are under consideration for future research.
