HC Deb 26 October 1972 vol 843 c406W
Q7. Mr. Skinner

asked the Prime Minister if he remains satisfied with the co-ordination between the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Employment and the Treasury on reducing unemployment in the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

Yes. The welcome fall in unemployment in October and the reduction of over 100,000 since March in the seasonally adjusted total of wholly unemployed show that the Government's policies are working. Our present rapid economic growth rate should permit further progress to be made in reducing unemployment.
