Mr. Edwin Wainwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the scheme submitted to his Department by the British Inland Waterways, for a major improvement of the Doncaster and Rotherham waterways.

The scheme has been studied by the Department and discussed with the British Waterways Board, which is now producing further informaiton. A decision will be made as soon as possible.
