asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations Her Majesty's Government received from the Eire Government concerning the proposed referendum on the international frontier 245W between the United Kingdom and Eire; what was the nature of the representations; and what was the reply from Her Majesty's Government.

No formal representations have been received from the Government of the Irish Republic on this subject, but both I and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland have of course been made aware of their reservations.
