§ Mr. Marksasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if the qualifications of State registered and State enrolled nurses will be acceptable for nursing service in the enlarged European Community;
(2) which nursing qualifications obtainable in the enlarged European Community will be regarded as equivalent to the State registered and State enrolled qualifications for service under the National Health Service.
§ Sir K. JosephDirectives on mutual recognition of general nursing qualifications are still in draft and have yet to be discussed with acceding States. It is not possible to give the information requested until discussions have taken place and the drafts been finalised.
