§ Mr. Patrick JenkinWhether or not the Government decide to go ahead with the tax credit scheme will depend upon whether such a scheme finds general acceptability and commends itself to the House, as stated by my right hon. Friend in his Budget Speech. In the event of a decision to proceed with the scheme, a building will be required to house the main computer installation and the staff associated with it. Should the scheme not be proceeded with, the building would then be required to house the computers to be used for the administration of the present PAYE system. A new building has therefore been authorised, and will be located at Washington. County Durham.
