HC Deb 18 October 1972 vol 843 c82W
Mr. Darling

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now introduce regulations making it obligatory for lorries and road tankers carrying petroleum, sulphuric acid and other dangerous chemicals or goods to draw off the roads and remain stationary during fog conditions, and to be equipped with sufficient lights to make them easily discernible.

Mr. Peyton

No; such regulations could not cater adequately for all conditions. I am studying the question of improved lighting of vehicles generally in fog.
