HC Deb 17 October 1972 vol 843 c65W
Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the intake of Asians from East Africa in general and Uganda in particular.

Mr. R. Carr

Up to 16th October, just over 15,000 people had arrived here from Uganda under the emergency arrangements made following upon the Government of Uganda's expulsion decree. I hope to be in a position to make a fuller statement about this very shortly. The issue of special vouchers to United Kingdom passport holders in other East African countries has continued in accordance with the previous arrangements.
