§ Mr. David Watkinsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what restrictions will operate against the import of wines from Spain, Portugal and Yugoslavia consequent upon the entry of the United Kingdom into the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. GodberAs it is understood that wine exported to the United Kingdom from these three countries is in general likely to meet already the provisions of Regulation 816 of 1970, our entry into the EEC should impose no new restrictions. Certain quality wines from two of the countries have been granted exemption from Community reference prices. For other kinds of wine the three countries have given the EEC an assurance that their exports will be priced at levels consistent with the appropriate reference price and will thus not be subject to any countervailing charges in force.
