§ Mr. CarlisleMy right hon. Friend has received a number of representations relating particularly to the recommendations for two salary scales for main grade probation officers, the range of the lower scale and the starting salaries for qualified officers. He has also heard from the Joint Negotiating Committee for the Probation Service and the Middlesex Probation and After-Care Committee about the recommendation for an excess rate payment and about the grade of deputy principal probation officer.
