How many fifteen- and sixteen-year-old boys have been in borstal for each year since the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 came into force.

Some provisions of the Children and Young Persons Act came into force in November, 1969; others, including the provisions relating to care orders, on January 1, 1971. The following information relates to boys received under sentence of borstal training in England and Wales—
