§ 47. Mr. Millanasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many inquiries there have been in Scotland for selective assistance under the Industry Act 1972; and in how many cases assistance has been offered.
§ Mr. ChatawayAs at 21st November the Scottish Industrial Development Office had received over 500 general inquiries about selective assistance under the Industry Act 1972. There have so far been 53 firm applications and another 50 or so are in prospect. Most of the applications already made are still under consideration but offers have been made in four cases.
