§ Mr. LaneOn 6th November, the London Motor Cab Trade Joint Committee forwarded the text of a suggested amendment to the London Cab Act, 1968. My noble Friend, Lord Colville, has agreed to meet representatives of the committee to discuss this proposal on 5th December.
§ Mr. Thomas Coxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the number of prosecutions during each of the last three years for illegal plying for hire by unlicensed drivers.

§ Mr. Thomas Coxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will order an inquiry into the illegal plying for hire by motor cab drivers in the Greater London area.
§ Mr. LaneNo. The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis is well aware of this problem and his officers take action whenever there is sufficient evidence to justify it.
