asked the Minister of State for Defence what plans he has for extending military installations in the Western Isles.

There are no plans for extending military installations in the Western Isles, apart from the continuing development of the Royal Artillery range at North Uist, Benbecula, and South Uist about which I wrote to the hon. Member on 7th April; and some additional married quarters at RAF Benbecula.
