§ Mr. Simon Mahonasked the Secretary of Sate for the Environment in view of the dangers to children and the environment in the Lunt Road area in Bootle from a disused smelting works, if he will consult with the Bootle Council with a view to demolishing the existing structure and redeveloping the site in a manner designed to improve the atmosphere and environment of the area; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Graham PageMy right hon. Friend has approved a grant of 85 per cent. towards the reclamation of this site, and I understand that the council intends to redevelop it as soon as possible.
