asked the Minister of State for Defence whether, in view of the need for land release in the Medway area, both for housing and industry, he has further considered the release of land, surplus to his Department's requirements, in the areas of Rochester and Chatham.

At present there is no surplus Ministry of Defence land available in the Rochester and Chatham areas which is suitable for housing or industry, but we are currently reviewing some of our land holdings in these areas.
