HC Deb 24 May 1972 vol 837 c377W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received complaining about the disparities in the numbers of electors represented by individual regional and district councillors in the proposed new structure of local government; and whether he will make a statement on his proposals to meet such objections.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

I have received some representations, and consultations are taking place with the local authorities concerned. Thereafter, these matters will be referred to the independent advisory committee which I am setting up.
