§ Sir K. JosephRevision of the National Health Service (General Medical and Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations, 1966 (Statutory Instrument 1966 No. 1210), which include as Schedule 1 the terms of service for medical practitioners, has been under discussion with the medical profession's representatives for a number of years. A draft of revised regulations and terms of service has emerged from these discussions, and authority was given to the General Medical Services Committee of the British Medical Association to circulate the draft terms of service, with a memorandum on the relevant provisions of the draft regulations, to local medical committees—of which there are some 130 in England and Wales—prior to their annual conference this year.
The draft is subject to further consultations and liable to amendment.
