§ Mr. SpeedThe reasons for lane closures were as follows:
- 1. Continuous closure of one lane in each direction at Bescot during the reappraisal and examination of the box girder viaduct.
- 2. Re-jointing and surface repairs to the concrete section on the Stafford Bypass.
- 3. Renewal of lamp brackets on the Walsall section.
- 4. Closure of two lanes in each direction to permit resurfacing on a hot rolled asphalt section in North Staffordshire.
- 5. Closure of one lane in each direction for the installation of safety barriers, on the central reserve.
- 6. Closure of one lane in each direction for filling in light-wells in the central reserve providing light in underpasses.
- 7. Routine maintenance work of all kinds.
- 8. Accidents.
