§ Mr. DeanOn the basis of the movement in the General Index of Retail Prices over the relevant periods the percentage increases needed in October, 1967, November, 1969, and September, 1971, to restore the buying power of the retirement pension to its value at the previous uprating were 8.9, 11.5 and 16.5, respectively. The actual increases were 12.5, 11.1 and 20 per cent., respectively.
