§ Mr. Woofasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is now able to make a statement on the result of the current investigation by the Metropolitan Police into the case of Thomas Appleby, details of which have been sent to him by the hon. Member for Blaydon.
§ Mr. CarlisleI understand that the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis recently arranged for a senior officer to see a film said to be relevant to this 187W matter, but the office observed nothing to justify any further investigation of the original complaint against the police. The Commissioner has so informed Mr. Appleby's father.
