Mr. Adam Hunter

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total number of dwellings in Scotland that lack standard amenities, such as a bathroom. water closet and a hot water system.

Mr. Gordon Campbell:

A recent sample survey suggests that the number of houses lacking exclusive use of one or more of the standard amenities (inside WC, hot water tap and bath) is probably between 200,000 and 220,000.
